Family & Consumer Science
Family and consumer sciences (FCS) is a comprehensive body of skills, research, and knowledge that helps people make informed decisions about their well being, relationships, and resources to achieve optimal quality of life.  The field represents many areas, including human development, personal and family finance, housing, and interior design, food science, nutrition and wellness, textiles and apparel, education, and consumer issues.
FCS is also known as the study of human sciences.

Family and Consumer Sciences remain the only educational program that directly addresses the preparation of students for adult roles, including work and family responsibilities.

CTSO: Career and Technical Student Organizations
All students will be encouraged to participate in extended learning experiences such as career and technical student organizations and other leadership or extracurricular organizations.

FCCLA
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is a dynamic and effective national organization that helps young men and women become leaders and addresses important personal, family work and societal issues through family and consumer sciences education.

TAFE
The Texas Association of Future Educators or TAFE (pronounced "taffy") is a co-curricular statewide non-profit student organization created to allow young men and women an opportunity to explore the teaching profession. The organization was created in 1984 to provide the best and brightest high school and middle school students in Texas with the necessary knowledge to make informed decisions about pursuing careers in education.  TAFE is sponsored by the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals and is governed by a board of directors comprised of teachers, students and principals.

Absences from Class
It is the student’s responsibility to obtain the make-up assignments from Mrs. Kelly and complete the missing assignments by the completion date.
